The Current Analysis Digital Media Infrastructure module focuses on the delivery of digital content and related networking technologies. This module covers areas such as digital video and IPTV networking that extends from the service provider network to the customer premises. This module also addresses content security as part of overall coverage, including analysis on related issues such as content regulation. Coverage areas include:

• IPTV Solutions: Single vendor solution sets that combine various networking elements such as access and video networking into a comprehensive package. Such elements include broadband access, broadband aggregation, IPTV middleware, VoD server, video headend, and content protection elements:

• IPTV Middleware Technology: Software embedded in consumer CPE, typically set-top boxes that manage the user interface and the delivery of video to the TV such as IP-based video broadcast and video on demand.

• VoD Server Technology: Network servers that support software, and are purpose-developed and dedicated to VoD applications.

• Video Head-end Technology: Part of the network that concentrates video networking technologies required to deliver video over broadband. Specifically this addresses the platforms that support encoder capabilities and closely related capabilities such as media routing.

• Content Protection Technology: Technology required to ensure the security and integrity of IP-based video applications. Specifically this addresses digital rights management (DRM) and conditional access (CA) technologies.
